Out and About

The beautiful village of Lynton and Lynmouth is just 3.5 miles away, a 7 minute drive or a 1.5 hour walk.  Lynton is set high up, at the top of Glen Lyn Gorge and is home to a very striking stretch of the South West Coast Path, which snakes out of the town to the formidable and breath-taking Valley of Rocks.  Lynton hosts a small knot of shopping streets which is home to a handy convenience stores, chemist, butchers, cinema, cafes and pubs.  This is where you can catch the cliff railway down to Lynmouth which also hosts pubs and cafes and a splendid fish and chip shop just in front the beach.

Food and Drink

The Blue Ball Inn is just a 5 minute drive or a 45 minute walk from the Shepherds Huts. A traditional pub which serves good food and drinks, always worth booking in the summer months.  Lynton, Lynmouth, Porlock and Brendon have some amazing gastro pubs, cafes and takeaways. The hut@dogsworthy is the perfect base to explore this amazing area.
